The US Navy’s Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyer USS John Finn (DDG-113) has returned to San Diego after the vessel’s maiden deployment.
The DDG-113 vessel returned to San Diego on 2 April.
John Finn is a part of the Theodore Roosevelt Service Strike Group.
The first mission of the destroyer is aimed toward conducting maritime safety operations to make sure a ‘free and open Indo-Pacific’.
Service Strike Group 9 commander Rear Admial Doug Verissimo mentioned: “John Finn’s efficiency throughout her maiden deployment has been nothing in need of phenomenal.
“The captain and his crew must be extremely happy with the job their staff did, seamlessly integrating into the strike group and exceeding each expectation. I’m so proud to have them as a member of Crew Fury.”
Final month, John Finn performed a transit via the Taiwan Strait. The routine Taiwan Strait transit was carried out on 10 March in settlement with worldwide regulation.
In February, USS John Finn participated in twin service with Theodore Roosevelt Service Strike Group (TRCSG) and Nimitz Service Strike Group that demonstrated the tactical capabilities of two service strike teams ‘working collectively’.
In line with US Navy, the Service’s third Fleet leads Indo-Pacific area’s area naval forces.
This fleet gives the ‘practical, related coaching’ essential to execute Navy’s sea management and energy projection roles.
