SHELL has entered a collaboration which is able to trial the usage of hydrogen gas cells on ships in Singapore.
The trial will contain growing and putting in an auxiliary energy unit Proton Change Membrane (PEM) gas cell on an current Ro-Ro (roll-on/roll-off) transport vessel. The feasibility examine can be completed in collaboration with SembCorp Marine, a marine and offshore engineering group, and Penguin Worldwide, the proprietor of the Ro-Ro vessel.
