SHELL has entered a collaboration which is able to trial the usage of hydrogen gas cells on ships in Singapore.  

The trial will contain growing and putting in an auxiliary energy unit Proton Change Membrane (PEM) gas cell on an current Ro-Ro (roll-on/roll-off) transport vessel. The feasibility examine can be completed in collaboration with SembCorp Marine, a marine and offshore engineering group, and Penguin Worldwide, the proprietor of the Ro-Ro vessel. The ship transports items, automobiles, and tools to Shell’s Pulau Bukom Manufacturing Website from the mainland.

The examine is the primary of its form for Shell and for Singapore. The goal can be to put in the gas cell subsequent 12 months.
