Spain’s Port of Tarragona is about to start set up of the sting beam on the Balears Wharf.
It’s a 5.4-meter-wide, 1.70-meter-thick bolstered concrete beam that can run alongside the whole size of the outer and interior wharf.
The bollards, fenders and different auxiliary dockside parts will then be fitted to it. The beam can be fitted with 200-ton bollards for mooring giant cruise ships.
The Balears Wharf can be operational in June 2021
The outer dock can be geared up with white defend fenders designed for mooring the biggest vessels with out marking their white hulls. The interior dock may have the normal cylindrical fenders, in accordance with a press launch.
The dock edge may also be geared up with ladders for boatmen and for rescuing individuals from the water. There may also be rings on which to tie spillage containment boundaries and for the manoeuvring of various service vessels.
When full the brand new wharf may have a berth size of 700 meters, with area on each side for cruise ships, which the port mentioned it expects to begin calling once more mid 12 months.
