CAIRO: Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Assets Tarek Al-Molla revealed a brand new initiative to cut back the worth of aviation gas to fifteen cents per gallon with the purpose of serving to the tourism and aviation sectors overcome the challenges created by the pandemic.
Egypt had beforehand lowered aviation gas costs final April to assist the tourism and aviation sectors, following the outbreak of the coronavirus illness (COVID-19).
In an announcement, Al-Molla stated that the initiative can be applied beginning Jan. 21 and would stay ongoing till the tip of the 12 months.
The initiative got here after a gathering between Al-Molla, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Khaled Al-Anani and Minister of Civil Aviation Mohammed Manar Enaba, throughout which they mentioned various points associated to supporting the tourism and aviation sectors.
Al-Anani stated that the initiative would contribute to tourism to Egypt by motivating worldwide firms to extend the variety of flights to Egyptian locations, whereas Enaba defined the vital function of the petroleum sector in supporting aviation site visitors by means of its initiatives and its provision of aviation gas in any respect Egyptian airports.
Enaba emphasised that there was full coordination and cooperation between the three sectors of tourism, aviation and petroleum.
